1 - Experience Sunset at Paliton Beach

Close to the main tourist strip, this beach is a must-visit place to relax and cool off. Soak up the chilled vibes and relax under the palm trees. Head to Paliton Beach at sundown to catch a breathtaking sunset over the ocean. The island, known as the island of fire, is bound to give you unforgettable sunsets.

2 - Plunge into Lugnason Falls

It is a short steep walk to access this unique and gorgeous waterfall. Feeling brave? Adrenaline junkies can jump off of the top of the waterfall or take the Tarzan swing and plunge into the waterfall below.

3 - Relax at Salagdoong Beach

Known for its white sand and clear turquoise waters, it is an ideal spot for swimming and relaxation. For thrill-seekers, there is an area for cliff diving (tide-dependent). Just off the shore, a vibrant coral reef lies, perfect for snorkelling. The beach has a small entrance fee, which helps maintain the place’s pristine beauty.

4 - Tarzan Swing at Cambugahay Falls

The most popular and most beautiful falls on the island. This multi-tiered waterfall is charmed with bright blue waters. If you own a drone, you are in for a treat. Enjoy the Tarzan swing into the water, or relax in the surrounding pools. For the best experience at this Siquijor tourist spot, head there early to avoid the crowds (it can get swamped here).

5 - Visit A Local Healer

For a unique and authentic cultural experience, visit a local healer to discover the art of herbal and traditional medicine. They will discuss your problems and provide a treatment to help you heal. The healers cannot charge you, instead you should give them a tip for their services.

6 - Sunset & Shakes at BuCafe

BuCafe is a small but delightful cafe located in the hills of San Juan. Relax on the beanbags, unwind on the nets, and have an amazing speciality drink. Catch an amazing sunset here, served with a slice of serenity while overlooking the fields and ocean. It is a recent addition to the island.

7 - Snorkel at Tulapos Marine park

Visitors can enjoy snorkelling or diving in this conservation area amongst its vibrant corals and healthy marine life. Snorkelling here offers you a great opportunity to see reef sharks.

8 - Go Caving in Cantabon Cave

A popular cave system known for its unique limestone formations, stalactites, and stalagmites. The adventure will take you trekking through lush greenery and into dark passageways within the cave. Make sure to go with a guide for this activity!

9 - Old Enchanted Balete Tree

This tree is surrounded by local folklore and is a unique, mystical attraction found on the southeast side of the island. The highlight of the Balete Tree is the fish spa. Sit on the edge of the pond and dangle your feet into the water. The fish will nibble away at the dead skin on your feet.

10 - Scuba dive with Baraccuda

Despite not being known as one of the top diving locations in the Philippines, Siquijor offers excellent scuba opportunities. The dive sites here explore the local coral reefs, which are extremely healthy and provide a plethora of marine life to see. There is even a location where you have a high likelihood of diving with Baraccuda.

11 - Party at JJ's Backpackers

This small hostel transforms into an elaborate beach party on Friday/Saturday night. Ready to experience a proper island party? Enjoy live music, and beers and meet a plethora of other backpackers and locals. The entrance is just 20php for this wild experience.

How To Get To Siquijor Island

Travelling to Siquijor can be quite time-consuming (But I promise it is worth it). 

 

Once you are in Cebu, Bohol or Dumaguete, you can book a ferry (OceanJet) straight to Siquijor. 

 

Keep an eye on Siquijor’s tourism board. They are currently in the process of building an international airport in Siquijor.

How To Get Around Siquijor

Traveling around Siquijor is best with a scooter. They are cheap and easy to rent from the nearby port on the island. Make sure you take photos of any previous damage on your scooter before you start your journey.

 

You can easily flag down tricycles on the island, but try not to get overcharged. This is a common issue for foreigners!

Where To Stay In Siquijor

The island isn’t that big, but it is still important to stay in the right area. Most of the bars, hostels and tourist accommodations are located in San Juan.
