Considering a trip to the enchanting island of Siquijor? Or perhaps you’re yearning for an escape from the hustle and bustle of Manila? This guide covers the fastest and most budget-friendly ways to travel from Manila to Siquijor.

Siquijor From Manila Via Dumaguete: The Easiest Route

The fastest and undoubtedly easiest way to go to Siquijor from Manila is to take a domestic flight to Dumaguete, followed by a short ferry.

 

Dumaguete City, in Negros Occidental, is the closest city to Siquijor.

 

Flight time between Manila and Dumaguete takes around 1.5 hours and costs approximately 1,500php per person (each way).

 

Once you land in Dumaguete, take a tricycle to Dumaguete Sea Port, where you can buy your ferry ticket.

 

A ferry takes around an hour, but price and time vary depending upon which shipping company you use.

 

The fastest route is via Oceanjet, taking just 40 minutes and costing 350php. There are 4 ferries daily, the earliest being 7:20 am and the latest being 7:20 pm.

Siquijor From Manila: Scenic Routes

If you want to visit other islands on your trip, consider taking a domestic flight to the popular islands of Cebu or Bohol first, before visiting Siquijor a few days later.

 

Siquijor to Manila via Cebu

  1. Fly into Mactan International Airport
  2. Head to Cebu Pier 1
  3. Take the OceanJet Fastcraft to Siquijor (via Tagbiliran)

Siquijor to Manila via Bohol

  1. Fly into Panglao International Airport
  2. Take a transfer to Tagbiliran Port
  3. Take the OceanJet Fastcraft to Siquijor (1.5 hours)

As of 2025, plans are underway to build a domestic airport on Siquijor Island. While not complete yet, it does mean that travel from Manila to Siquijor will get a whole lot easier in the future.
